What range syntax does it accept?

Commas separate pages and groups, and a hyphen defines a range: 1-3, 5, 8-10 gives you pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Reversed ranges such as 5-3 are read as 3-5. Page numbers outside the document are ignored, and the tool tells you if nothing valid was left.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. The selected pages are copied into a new document without re-encoding, so images and text are identical to the source. Nothing is rasterised or re-compressed.

Can I split a PDF into one file per page?

This tool produces a single PDF containing the pages you select. To get one file per page, run it once per page, or select pages in groups and extract them separately.

What happens to the original file?

Nothing. The original is only read, never modified or deleted — the extracted pages are downloaded as a new file with -pages added to the name.
